Microwave frequency ranges often require high output power because higher frequencies result in greater attenuation. The SMA100B provides different output power levels to compensate for such losses. LegacyPro enables the SMA100B to reliably simulate traditional generators from Keysight, Agilent, HP, Anritsu, and Rohde & Schwarz, among others. Thus, the SMA100B can be deployed in traditional systems without significant software changes, effectively extending uptime, reducing ownership costs, and prolonging the service life of test systems.

High-End ADC and DAC Component Testing

Each new generation of ADCs brings increased analog input bandwidth and required clock frequencies. Effective bit increases also lead to higher signal-to-noise ratios. This means that testing ADCs and DACs requires ultra-pure high-frequency signals that exceed the performance of the device under test. The SMA100B's superior performance optimizes the device under test and makes technological improvements feasible.

NRP Power Probe Connectivity

NRP power probes can be connected to the SMA100B;

The device under test is rarely connected directly to the generator. The generator and the device under test are usually interconnected via cables and other components. Therefore, the reference plane shifts from the generator's RF output to the device under test. NRP power probes can be connected to the SMB100B for accurate calibration at the new reference plane (accuracy up to 0.1dB).
